Windsurf has been absorbed into Devin, and leaves the board
windsurf.com now returns an HTTP 308 redirect to devin.ai/desktop. Windsurf's row, votes and head to head record are retired, not transferred: this board does not carry a separate Devin row for them to move to.

As of 22 August 2026, Windsurf is off the board. windsurf.com now returns an HTTP 308 redirect to devin.ai/desktop, so Windsurf no longer resolves as an independent product with its own destination.
The redirect is the operational trigger for the removal. The reason behind it has been on the public record since well before we measured it. On 14 July 2025 Cognition announced a definitive agreement to acquire Windsurf, covering the product, the intellectual property, the trademark and the brand (Cognition, 14 July 2025). Windsurf published its own confirmation the same day (Windsurf's next chapter, 14 July 2025). The 308 we measured in August 2026 is what that acquisition looks like from the outside, once the brand stopped being maintained as a separate destination.
This is a removal, not a rename. This board does not carry a separate row for Devin, so Windsurf's votes, opinions and 5W-8L head to head record are retired along with the row rather than transferred anywhere. If Devin is added to the board in future, it will start from its own votes, not from Windsurf's tally.
Windsurf published at tier B, 736 out of 1000 across 47 votes, rank 5 in the coding agent and LLM category. That row and those numbers are now retired. The coding agent and LLM category re-ranks from 1 through 5 with the slot removed rather than left open.

This piece originally rested on the 308 alone and declined to say why the redirect existed. That was the wrong instinct. The acquisition was public, first party and eighteen months old at the time of writing, so the headline was making a claim the body would not source. Both primary announcements are now cited above. The removal, its date, the retired numbers and the decision not to carry a Devin row are unchanged.
